An open mail...to the chairman

To,
Mr. Dilip Vengsarkar,
Chairman of Selection Committee,
BCCI Office,
Mumbai.

Dear Sir,
This is a mail which I was willing to write for quite some time. But since, before you stepped in as chairman, this position belonged to Mr More, to whom I thought this mail would not have meant much.
Please consider this mail as a feeling that most of the die-hard indian fans are having.

Well, as you know the last few tournaments have been awefully bad for our team.
We all are very much concerned, since ICC World Cup is not very far away, and we are still unable to make up our first 14 players.
When BCCI gave the job of coach to Mr Greg Chappel, he convinced them by his own way to make the Indian team formidable for the WC.
He called this as his VISION 2007. Big strong words I must say. However after more than a year Greg has managed to make the team so weak that they have fogotten to play in Indian pitches as well.

I could not remember the last time when India fared so horrible in their own den.
Even the last West Indies tour, which he could have used to its fullest advantage to get the first hand experience of the turfs where the WC would be played, he misused the entire tour by experimenting with players.

There are lot many incidents like this which I think we all have seen, which only proves that Mr Greg is slow poisoning Indian cricket team.
He has come with only one plan....destroy the Indian cricket.

Its really a shame on you all that no one is able to understand that.

Please remove this man from the Indian Team to save us all.
However, I am sure this is not possible now since you have named him as the coach till the WC.

We wait for another frustraing tournament..the SA trip..rest assured that the same scenarios will repeat.

I end this mail with a hope that your conscience will return soon and we will be able to see the Indian team which we are really proud of.

Thanks and regards,
An Indian Cricket Lover

Good Times...
Had a gr8 time during the diwali weekend.
My dear friend Partho had come over from hyderabad (his work place) to our little home in b'lore.

Visited some hot spots of b'lore, went to watch Janemaan@Urvashi. And I thought it was a decent movie.

Partho is getting married on Feb 6, 2007.
He utilised the time to do some silk shopping....ofcourse for his wedding.

It was a good diwali and first time I did not miss my home during such a festival.:-)

The Trip...that was
Well...firstly I feel very sorry for not posting any thing from my home as promised.
Yes, I was a bit busy...as you can can well imagine.

Came back on 11th and joined office on that day itself.
Well the trip back 2 b'lore was quite fine.

However I can't say the same for the trip back home. It was not the experience I really wanted to have, specially when I was visiting there after so many days.

Reached on 22nd and was greeted with rain and that too in cats and dogs.
The whole city was flooded and our train could not reach Howrah station, as the tracks at Titagarh was under water.
Our train was halted at Santragachi. And, from there we took a cab and amidst the immense water logging streets we got through the by-pass high way and managed to reach the city via Vivekananda Setu (2nd Hoogly bridge).
Well instead of entering the city through 1st Hoogly bridge, we entered it via 2nd Hoogly bridge...:-)

It was great that we finally managed to reach my home after such difficulty.

The news channels said that the down pour would continue for next 3 days and have a great chance of ruining the festivities of Durga Puja.

However, it all cleared on the next 2 days and Kolkata was back to the city of celebration which it always look during this part of the year.
Had some shopping to be made during these 2-3 days before the celebration starts for the biggest festival in a Bengaili's year.

The festival started on 28th Sep with Sasti.
Sandy was all along with us during the puja.
Although he was a bit busy as being an employee of Pepsico India, he was in charge of a Pepsi stall in one of the Puja Pandal @ Park Circus. He was in charge of it and hence had to visit it once every day to get the status of every day sales from the counter persons. A busy exec...to say the least...;-).
However he managed to come back after the early morning visit and we used to go out generally during the evenings.

Had a gr8 time with my friends and family during the next 3 days.
Visited lot of puja Pandals. Took some snaps. Watched all those on T.V which I could not make it physically.

On Sunday, 29th,(Nabami) all our old mates got together at out favourite hang out joint at China Town. Had a wonder ful time with dear friends.
Well got to board our very dear friend's,Mac's newest acquire, a brand new WagonR, in a jet black attire...well cool to say the least.
There was Partho-da, Mum (Mac's better half and a very dear friend of ours'), Sandy and ofcourse myself with Chandrima.
Partho was flying the day after to Hyderabad to join Satyam...so obviously the party was well pending.
Boozing and food along with our usual meaning less Bhat was the order of the day.
Among all of us we had spent some famous days, which as usual comes up in discussion every time we meet in such forum...this day was not different. We cant have enough of those days....we spent during our first professional training days @TISCO in JSR.
Lot of days have passed after that and we have also moved ahead...some like Mac have moved leaps and Bounds...people like me are still on my way....but still we are one of the famous friends...we really go along very well.

The next day was the end of our very dear festival for which we had planned for a year....but Durga ma has to go....and what we can only do is wait for the next year....Aasche Bochor, Aabar Hobe (Coming year, she will come again). Indeed, she will, but at that time in what stage we will be, we dont know...only hope and pray to Durga ma for the best.
Went for the Bhasan at the Ganges for our flat's durga puja....took some snaps too.

The next few days was spent in home amidst our family. Went to meet most of our relatives for the Suvo Bijoya.

And the day finally arrived to bid farewell....
15 days passed like a whisker...however memories remain...through which I hope to pass the next 365 days.

Suvo Bijoya to every one....
