Wasted...money...energy...every thing...
On a rainy evening in Bangalore, I happened to see the most hyped movie of the year, KANK.
Spent the entire day (almost) to get the ticket to grab a glimpse of the new Karan Johar Movie and left with a great disappointment at the end of the show. Sorry, but it was not a movie for which one would like to spend money on. Huge star cast only added to the woes. Characterization of Shahrukh Khan, Dev was totally off the mark. He plays a soccer player who after having a leg injury had to leave soccer and become job less. However one cant understand why is he such misbehaving to his kid and his wife. Karan made a mockery of the character.
One fails to understand why Rani(Maya) does not like Abhisek (whom she marries in an arranged marriage event), even though she does not have any love affair with any one during this time. Does Mr Johar, wants to say that arranged marriage are not the way and one should only marry only when any one falls in love? Why was there no effort from Rani to adjust with a very loving and "normal" Abhishek?
Being a truely a great fan of Rani, I was not convinced by her performance. She only had to cry in the film.
Only the Jr Bachchan and Priety Zinta were normal in the film. Even to make it worse, Mr Bachchan (Sr) were given a role of Sex Maniac. A role which I think Big B should never have accepted. A very cheap presentation of the man whom our country loves and respect.
Sorry, it was really pathetic to see all my favourite stars being misused and mispotrayed by a film maker who is a rage now-a-days.
The cinematography by ace lensman Anil Mehta was simply awesome and true to the texture of the film, which was over glossy.
The song Tumhi Dekho na, has a wonderful color combination, which is unique and wonderfully shot.
The film's US locations are repetitive. The famous Brooklyn Bridge, which was wonderfully used in Kal Ho Na Ho, is being used repetitively over and over and does not attract that much attention.

All and all, a movie which lacks characterization and can be avoided.
