At last ... it's ITALIA
At last, some thing happened according to my wish. Last night, ITALY emerged as the new World Cup winners.
Italy has been my second favourite since the time I started watching and understanding soccer. The first being Argentina.
It started way back, when I used to stay along my uncle jointly in saltlake. My elder cousin sister used to support Italy and forced me to do so.
And guess what made her support Italy....good looking males!!
No, I did not support them for their good looking females....I loved them for their star players.
There were lot of them...Roberto Baggio (who can forget his good looks and pony tail), Paolo Maldini, Alsendro Del Pierro (only member in this world cup), Walter Zenga (their goal keeper who made a world record for longest time being unbeaten in 1990 world cup held at Italy).
I also used to love their catennacio defence, which they have improved a lot in this world cup with a focus on offense.

Staying in Kolkata and staying out of Brasil has been tough. People there tend to be swayed by the artistry of the Brazilians. How ever according to me, football is more than a art. It is a science also.
But none were the reasons for me not supporting them...it was only since I wanted to be different from others. I supported Argentina and Italy.

Yesterday's match was good and better as italia emerged winners. However, too many games got decided on shoot outs this world cup. Some thing that FIFA has to look into.

Any way, I got what I had been waiting for since 1990.
